If I had a larger rock tumbler I could have probably made 10, or even 20 lbs of black powder with not much labor investment. The ball mill does most of the work.

It is possible to get quick BP this way but it is a LOT of hard work for a very small amount of powder. You should look at either building your own ball mill or using a hobby tumbler.

I put the BP in maybe 1/2" layers on plastic trays (I would avoid shiny metal) and put in direct sun and even use a fan blowing across the top if possible. Should be dry in 20 or 30 min.
